SIMPLE AND AUTHENTIC PIZZA SAUCE (GF-V)

When I'm eating pizza, I pay attention to two things: the crust and the sauce. Personally, I don't like it when sauces are too sweet. I prefer simple, fresh and balanced flavours.
With that being said, I bring to you my personal favourite pizza sauce recipe. And trust me, it will be one of the best you've ever had!

Ingredients

1 large can of Italian tomatoes
1/4 cup of olive oil
1 big bunch of basil leaves (1 whole package)
5 cloves of garlic
1 tsp of cane sugar
Salt + Pepper

Preparation

Blend all the ingredients in a food processor and voilà! It's as simple as that. Make sure you taste for salt and pepper. If you like heat, you can also add some chili flakes to the mix!

Note: the tomato sauce will not come out bright red but brownish. Don't worry that's perfectly normal. It's what happens when tomatoes are oxidized.
