7 BOOKS I LOVED - FOR THE MIND & SPIRIT
I was never big on reading. Remember when they forced us to read books in school? Ugh... I hated that. Movies, yes. Books, no. My newfound love for books only started about 6 years ago - I was going through a pretty bad breakup and I stumbled upon a book that ended up changing my whole perspective on the world and in turn my life. I truly became a new person. I went from being unhappy, irrational at times and overly stressed to more calm, grateful and forgiving. I learned to see the positive in some of the worst situations.
My father is Jewish and my mother is Orthodox Christian. And even though I came from a family of religious beliefs, my parents always let me decide who I wanted to be and what I wanted to believe. I never felt a great connection to religion even though I respected traditions. But ever since I can remember I was a spiritual person. I always believed that there was a greater energy in the universe and that we were all somehow connected. I also believed in the power of the mind.
So, it wasn't until about 6 years ago, while I was questioning the last few years of my life that I randomly spotted a book on the floor of my friends apartment. That's when I started reading about the Kabbalah, which eventually led me to read a bigger variety of books that pertained to the Mind, the Intellect and Enterpreneurship.
Here are my MUST READ books for the Mind and Spirit:
1. "IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR LIFE, CHANGE IT" by Yehuda Berg
If you're going through a rough time in your life and things don't seem to ever be adding up, I highly recommend you read this book. This is the book that made me really open my mind and helped me get through a rough time. I recommended this book to over 10 people since and received great feedback from them. It's short, easy to read and summarizes what Kabbalah is really about. Basically, it shows you a different way of looking at life that's more positive and with greater meaning. With simple and clear examples, it shows you why everything happens for a reason. Keep in mind that the Kabbalah is NOT a religion, but a way of thought.

2. "ASK AND IT IS GIVEN" by Esther Hicks & Jerry Hicks
Without getting too technical, this book basically goes into great detail on what you can do to attract everything and anything that you desire. It provides you with great examples of exercises that you can put into practice everyday that will help you have a better mindset and achieve your goals. Personally, I loved reading this book because it was the beginning of my love for meditation. It set the foundation for my future mindset and how important it is for me to always remember to be grateful. I clearly remember being on vacation and sitting by the pool and reading this book. I would get so into it that I wouldn't want to put it down and would end up spending hours obsessing over the book. Eventually I would fall asleep with the book in my hands. It's a long read but well worth it - buckle up!

3. "48 LAWS OF POWER" by Robert Greene
If you're an entrepreneur, this is a must read. It's basically a self-help book that shows you how to gain power in situations where you're not necessarily the alpha in the room. This was also the first audiobook I purchased. I listened to it with audible and I'm now hooked on the app.

4. "ART OF SEDUCTION" by Robert Greene
Oh-em-gee. I loved this one. I remember listening to the audiobook and not being able to stop. It was so interesting. It talks about different types of personalities, what you can do to seduce them and how to do it depending on the type of characters you're dealing with. This is totally my cup of tea. But overall, I think everyone should read this book. It goes deeper into the psych and makes you notice important character traits in people you might not have noticed before. Makes you think...

5. "RICH DAD, POOR DAD" by Robert T. Kiyosaki
Simply put, this book is what we all should have been thought in high school. I would have rather learned about financials, numbers, bank statements and savings accounts than knowing what a concave and convex angle is... who added that as necessary to the curriculum anyway? Kiyosaki talks about his own personal story growing up and how he had two dads, rich dad and poor dad. One was a scholar and followed the rules of society but was never rich and the other was an entrepreneur who led his career by his own rules and became rich. It explains fundamental principles of how to make money and keep making money, without going into debt. I honestly recommend this book. It's such an easy read and far from boring!

6. "STRESS LESS, ACCOMPLISH MORE" by Emily Fletcher
THIS BOOK made me want to mediate... hard. It's simple, easy to understand, exciting and super motivating. If you've never mediated, and I mean like actually meditated for real, then this book is a great way to start. Emily provides incredible examples and testimonies of individuals who changed their lives just by meditating 15 minutes twice daily. Yeah, it sounds like a lot. But you quickly get addicted to the feeling. Also, this is not your "don't think of anything at all" type of meditation. It's much more simple than that. And let's face it, we're not gurus. We just want to relax our minds and have a better life. MUCH better life. I recommend you read this book before you start the next one below!

7. "BECOMING SUPERNATURAL: HOW COMMON PEOPLE DO THE UNCOMMON" by Dr Joe Dispenza
This is my current read and I'm almost finished. Probably one of the best books I've ever read. It made me start meditating... actually meditation, twice daily! Everyday. And I'm obsessed. This book is written by Dr Dispenza, a neuroscientist who knows pretty much everything there is to know about the brain and still believes there is more to it. He has done thousands of studies on the brain and shares some of his results in the book. His main focus is the quantum physics, which you will learn more about if you decide to read his book. Incredible read - really makes you wonder how much we don't know about the brain. Reading it opened my eyes and my mind to the unknown. I'm excited to keep reading.
